WE EXIST
TO FACILITATE
MUSIC
After a near death experience one of our founders decided to dedicate themselves to music. Inspired by an Ingmar Bergman film in which someone is confronted with death and buys themself enough time to commit one last good act, Morning Choir dedicates itself to facilitating music in our community. After enlisting the help of two friends with deep music roots, Morning Choir was born.
In our respective pasts, we worked with some of the biggest names in music but we became disillusioned with how electronic music had become the realm of influencers and shampoo commercials. We were inspired by the rawness of the Durham Fruit and wanted to produce old school raves. No flashy lights, no clout, just a warehouse with a sound system, a great artist, and people coming together to have a good time. We had no intention of being a public facing brand, we just wanted to facilitate the music we loved as a faceless presence behind the scenes. Our name wasn’t even on the flyers at first. Now, 6 years later, we’ve produced 134 shows with over 400 artists and brought together more than 50,000 people at our events.
Everyone that is involved with the Morning Choir is a music person. We go to shows, festivals, listen to a lot of music, and most of us are DJ’s. Each of us has a deeply personal reason why we love electronic music and it was that music that brought us all together. The ethos of bringing people together through music permeates everything we do. Electronic music has always had the ability to transcend social boundaries to create community and that’s a big part of why we love it. While we may grow, our ethos of bringing people together will never change. Everyone is always welcome at our events.
We will continue to scour the world for the artists that are pushing boundaries and pour countless hours into getting them here. We couldn’t do it without a vibrant community of artists, people, partners, venues and red-lined riders.
When you wonder how all of these amazing artists are coming to the triangle, think of that ominous face. We do it because we are stewards of music. We are the voice of the night.
❤️Morning Choir.
Who we are is not important but what we do is.
Behind the scenes, countless people work hundreds of hours to make every show happen. We seek not fame but perform a sacred duty as stewards of music. We do it because we love it.
We are masters of our craft because we dedicate ourselves to it.
We are never fixed in our way, but always seek the best possible way. That means we can try something different if it makes us better. We are meticulous and make sure everything runs flawlessly at every step. But we don’t take ourselves too seriously, because after all, this is music.
We respect the underground and give people chances.
Before the masses know about something, it starts in the underground. We started in the underground and will never forget our roots. We do not care about your socials or how many followers you have. We are all equals here and we want to give everyone a shot at the big stage.
From our local scene to a worldwide movement, all united by our love for music.
We are a small part of something much bigger. We support our community because we are always better when we work together.
Our events are a refuge for all.
Electronic music has always had the ability to transcend social boundaries and bring people together. That’s a big part of why we love it. You don’t need to dress a certain way or like a certain kind of music to be accepted. Everyone is always welcome as long as we respect each other.
No bullshit, just good people and good music.
We are positive and embrace all. We create events for people to have a good time. We are kind and will make someone’s night if they are kind too through magic, random moments whenever possible.
There is no better or worse in music, just difference.
We embrace all music no matter where it comes from and recognize that everyone has a preference. We believe in the musicians we work with and their art.
We would not exist without our fans.
Never forget this. We want them to have the best experience possible and we should do everything in our power to facilitate it.
